Special Issue Management

This section explains how to manage special issues using our journal management platform. As a publisher, you can easily perform operations on special issues through the backend system.

Special Issue Fields

Each special issue contains the following main fields:

  • Title
  • Information
  • Keywords
  • Editors
  • Submission Deadline
  • Public (visibility status)
  • Journal (associated journal)
  • Section (associated section)

Special Issue Management Operations

On the "Special Issue Management" page, you can perform the following operations by clicking the respective buttons:

  • Create New Special Issue: Click the "New Special Issue" button, fill out the form, and save.
  • Edit Special Issue: Click the "Edit" button next to a special issue, modify the information, and save.
  • Delete Special Issue: Click the "Delete" button next to a special issue and confirm to delete.

The delete operation is irreversible. Please proceed with caution.

Adding Special Issue Editors

Adding editors (Guest Editors) to a special issue is an important step that requires special attention:

  1. Editor Source: All selectable special issue editors must first be members of the journal's Editorial Board.

  2. Process for Adding New Editors:

    • To add a new editor, first go to the journal's "Editorial Board Management" page.
    • Add the new editor member on this page.
    • Once added, the new editor will appear in the editor dropdown menu in the special issue form.
  3. Selecting Special Issue Editors:

    • In the special issue creation or edit form, you will see an Editors field.
    • Use the dropdown menu to select one or more special issue editors.
tip

Ensure that all candidates are already on the Editorial Board list before selecting special issue editors.

Display of Special Issues in the Submission Process

Special issues that meet the following conditions will be displayed in the dropdown menu of the first step of the submission process:

  • Marked as "Public"
  • Submission Deadline has not passed
